Things to Know Before Using Patient Monitor Capture (PMC)

The Patient Monitor Capture (PMC) app allows you to screen-capture your Patient Monitor tool during Node or Mobile Camera sessions in SimCapture. Before you get started, here are the essentials to know.

System Requirements

  • Windows only: PMC works exclusively on Windows computers.
  • Runs in background: Closing the app window doesn't quit it. To fully exit, right-click the PMC icon in the system tray and select Quit.

Audio & Device Limitations

  • No audio: PMC captures video only.
  • Device limit: You can pair up to 2 PMC devices per SimCapture Cloud environment for Mobile Camera sessions.

Supported Languages

PMC is available in:

Chinese (Simplified), Dutch (Netherlands), French (France), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Japanese (Japan), Korean (South Korea), Polish (Poland), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian (Russia), Spanish (Spain)

Getting Started with PMC

Make sure your SimCapture instance is open before starting.

1. Launch the App

Open the Patient Monitor Capture app on your Windows computer.

2. Select the Source

Select Select Source and choose the screen you want to capture.

3. Set the Server Region

  • Select the pencil icon in the Region area.
  • Choose your server (e.g., Europe Central).
  • Select Save Changes.

4. Pair the Device

  • In the SC Cloud Pair Info area, Select Pair Client.
  • A 4-digit code field will appear-keep this window open.

5. Get the Code from SimCapture

  • In SimCapture, go to Settings > Configuration > Mobile Camera.
  • Select Pair Device and copy the 4-digit code.

6. Complete the Pairing

  • Return to the PMC app and enter the code.
  • Select Register Device.

7. Finalize Setup

  • In SimCapture, go to Settings > Configuration > Mobile Camera.
  • Under Paired Device, select the camera location from the dropdown.
  • Select Save.

8. Start a Session

  • Go to the Dashboard in SimCapture.
  • Select Start New Session > Start Ad-hoc Session > Start to begin recording.

Using PMC in Node Sessions

PMC can also be used in Node sessions to capture Patient Monitor feeds. To enable this:

  • Contact SimCapture Support or your Impact Manager for assistance.

Additional Setup Requirements

  • Uninstall Laerdal Remote Screen Capture (RSC) if it's installed.
  • Open Port 6682 (TCP) in Windows Defender Firewall for all networks.
  • Enable Location-Based Recording in SimCapture to select Patient Monitor Capture as an IP video feed type.
