FAQs
Can SimCapture transcribe the recordings of any Session in my Sessions List?
Well, almost… SimCapture can transcribe a recording only if a valid audio file is associated with the video. If no audio is present when the recording is captured, a transcription will not be generated.
Is transcription available in different languages?
Yes! Transcriptions are generated in the language set in each SimCapture site's Setup > General > Languages setting.
Who can view transcripts?
Anyone who can view a Session can also view the transcript for that Session.
Who can create transcripts in previously recorded sessions?
Any user with access to a past Session (that does not already have a transcript) can generate one by clicking the Generate Transcript button.
Who can delete transcripts?
Only users with the role of SysAdmin or Session Owner can delete transcripts.
Will this transcript enable assessment based on AI?
Not yet. This feature is a first step toward AI-based assessment, but it is not included in the current release (MVP).
Can we edit and modify translated text that was not transcribed properly?
No. Like Microsoft Teams and other AI-generated transcripts, SimCapture provides a disclaimer: "Transcription provided by AI. Please check for accuracy." There is no built-in editor or approval system for modifying transcripts.
Does transcription work with Mobile Camera if multiple devices are recording at the same time?
Yes, as long as the sessions are being captured while connected to the system. Note: Offline mobile sessions are not supported in the MVP.
Does transcription work for SimCapture with Skills recordings?
Yes. SimCapture with Skills recordings are transcribable once they are accessible from the Sessions list.
