Scenarios organize sessions, evaluations, annotations, and learner reflections in SimCapture. This article explains how System Administrators and Administrators can create scenarios in SimCapture Enterprise and SimCapture Pro .
Scenarios are created within courses in SimCapture Enterprise and at the organization level in SimCapture Pro.
Before You Begin
Permissions
Only System Administrators and Administrators can create scenarios.
Video Retention Awareness
- A global auto‑deletion policy applies to all scenarios unless it is overridden at the scenario level.
- If a scenario’s video policy is set to None or left blank, session videos are retained indefinitely.
Create a Scenario in SimCapture Enterprise
In SimCapture Enterprise, scenarios are part of a course curriculum.
- Select Courses from the global navigation bar.
- Select the course where the scenario should live.
- Select Add New Scenario .
- Select Create New . Use Copy only if you want to duplicate an existing scenario.
- Enter the Summary information:
- Title (required)
- Simulators (optional)
- Select Save .
Standardized Patient (SP) Scenarios
If the scenario includes a Standardized Patient:
- Enable the SP option .
- Select Allow multiple learners so multiple participants can be associated with the scenario.
Create a Scenario in SimCapture Pro
In SimCapture Pro, scenarios are created directly from the Scenarios page and are not tied to courses.
- Select Scenarios from the global navigation bar.
- Select Add Scenario .
- Complete the Summary information.
- Select Save .
Next Steps
After creating a scenario, you can:
