This guide helps facilitators and operators start a new recording session in SimCapture Pro , from selecting a room to beginning the recording.
Before You Begin
Before starting a session, make sure the following are true:
- You have an active SimCapture Pro user account.
- You are logged into the correct SimCapture organization.
- You know your SimCapture organization URL and login credentials.
If you do not have access or are unsure of your credentials, contact your system administrator.
Room Status Indicators
Room availability is shown using color indicators. Check the room status before starting a session:
- Blue – Room is available for use.
- Red – Room is currently in session. You may join if permitted.
- Yellow – Room is online but has no audio or video inputs. Check camera and microphone connections.
- Gray – Room is offline. Contact your system administrator if this appears unexpectedly.
How to Start a New Session
- Log in to your SimCapture Pro organization.
- On the Home page, locate the room you want to use.
- Select Start New Session for that room.
- Enter the session details.
- Select the video and audio feeds you want to record. At least one video and one audio source must be selected to begin recording.
- Select Start to begin the session.

Ending the Session
When the session is complete, select Stop (the large red button). The recording ends immediately and is saved automatically.

After ending a session, you can review, annotate, and debrief the recording from the Sessions area.
