How to Create and Assign a Standalone Scenario Evaluation

Standalone Scenario evaluations function similarly to Course evaluations but with key differences:
- They are tied to a Scenario, not a session.
- They can be assigned at any time.
- They may include a Scoring Rubric.
Create a Standalone Scenario Evaluation
Follow these steps to create a Standalone Scenario evaluation:
1. Create a New Scenario
- Navigate to the desired Course.
- In the Curriculum pod, click Add New Scenario.
- Select Create New and enter a title for your Scenario.
- In the Scenario Requirementsbox, choose one of the following:
- Simulator
- Standardized Patient
- Peer to Peer
- Self-recorded Then, fill in the required details.
- Click Save.
2. Convert to a Standalone Scenario
- In the Evaluations pod, locate your newly created Scenario.
- Click the gear icon next to it.
- Select Standalone Scenario.
- (Optional) Add a Scoring Rubric.
- Click Confirm.
3. Add an Evaluation
- In the Evaluations pod, find your Standalone Scenario and click Click to add an Evaluation.
- Select Create New, enter a title, and click Save.
- In the Evaluation Preview pod, click Add questions.
- Choose from:
- Multiple Choice
- USMLE Diagnosis
- Information
- Free Text You can also attach media files: .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .mp3, .mp4, .m4v, .mov.
- Click Save, then Done.
Your Standalone Scenario evaluation will now appear in the Evaluations pod.
Assign a Standalone Scenario Evaluation
To assign a Standalone Scenario evaluation:
- Return to your Course and go to the Agenda pod.
- Click Go to full agenda.
- Click Assign Evaluation.
- From the Evaluation to Assign dropdown, select your Scenario. Use Filter by Scenario if needed.
- Set a Release Date & Time. (Optional) Set a Retract Date & Time. If left blank, the evaluation will remain open.
- Choose to assign to:
- All Course Participants, or
- Only Select Users (search and select users).
- Click Save.
The evaluation will now appear in the Agenda pod on the Course home page, just like a Course evaluation.
