Setting up Offline Recording for your devices

Log in to your SimCapture Cloud organization and click the gear icon in the navigation bar to access System Settings. There, you will find the option for Mobile Camera.
Select the Mobile Camera device you want to enable Offline Recording for. If this device is not yet registered to a Location, you can find the steps to do so in the SimCapture Mobile Camera app article.
Select the Allow this device to record offline box and set a 4-character passcode for Offline Recording. This step secures the offline recording section of the app, ensuring it is accessible only to faculty members you share the passcode with.
Once this is enabled, completely close and reopen the beta version of the Mobile Camera app. You will see a new option for Record Video Offline. Click Record Offline Video and enter the 4-character passcode set in System Settings to access this section of the app.

Once a session is recorded, it will appear in the activity list in the app's offline session. This list will show the date and time the session was recorded, along with the session duration.
Click Playback to watch the session video on your device for immediate debriefing.
When the mobile device is connected to the internet, you can upload the session to SimCapture Cloud by clicking Upload. Once the upload is complete, the session will be available in your SimCapture Cloud sessions list.
Note and troubleshooting tips:
- For the best experience, ensure your mobile device is running the latest iOS or Android operating system.
- While the app is in beta, sessions must be manually uploaded by the user.
- During the beta phase, annotations cannot be made directly on the device—this feature is coming soon! However, you can annotate your uploaded sessions in SimCapture Cloud debrief after recording.
- Keep your phone and the Mobile Camera app open while the session uploads. If the app is closed during the upload, it will fail and can be retried once the app is reopened.
- The mobile device must be connected to the internet to upload videos to SimCapture Cloud.
- Videos will always upload to the SimCapture Cloud environment and location to which the mobile device is paired.
- Videos will be recorded in 480p resolution, and the maximum length of an offline session is 4 hours or 5GB, whichever limit is reached first.
- When using the Mobile Camera offline, only one device can record video per session.
