The Remote OSCE interface allows Proctors to configure, launch, and monitor virtual clinical encounters in real time .
Before You Begin
Confirm the following:
- You have access to the Control Interface
- The Remote OSCE feature is enabled for your organization
- Course, scenario, and patient selections are reviewed or cleared
Access the Remote OSCE Interface
- Log in to SimCapture
- Open the Control Interface
- Select the Remote OSCE icon
What You Can Do in the Interface
Start & Launch Sessions
- Open all rooms or start all encounters at once (bulk actions)
Configure Rooms
- Assign:
- Course
- Scenario
- Patient
- Learner
- Set room color indicators for visibility
Manage Rooms
- View all rooms in a list
- Select and adjust rooms individually
- Add rooms during a live session
Monitor Room Status
Each room displays a connection status:

Connected
- All participants are present
- No action needed
-
Disconnected
- One or more participants are missing
- Check for audio, video, or network issues
These indicators help you quickly identify rooms that need attention.
Monitor Interface (View-Only)
Monitors can observe live sessions without interacting.
- View live encounters in real time
- No control or configuration access
To assign Monitor access:
- Go to Course > People > Monitors
- Grant Monitor permission at the course level
Proctor Best Practices
Before the Exam
- Confirm or clear all room configurations
- Assign Monitor roles in advance
During the Exam
- Watch for disconnected participants
- Use bulk actions to start sessions efficiently
During Multi-Session Events
- Recheck course, scenario, and patient selections between runs
