Information on what the Administrative user sees on the Release Scores page versus what the Learner user sees

This guide details the learner experience when an Administrator sets the release options for Course and Scenario evaluations on SimCapture's Release Scores page.
Things to know before you begin
To access the Release Scores page, administrators can navigate through: Courses > Select Course > Go to Full Agenda > + Release Scores. Learners, will view their results on the My Courses page.
Administrators with editing permissions can modify evaluations as needed to ensure the accuracy of released scores.
Release scores page options
Primary options
As an administrative user, you will find the following options available on the Release Scores page:
- Release Date & Time
- Retract Date & Time (Optional)
- Release to (All Course Participants or Only Select Users)
- Other Releasing Options
- Select Score/Sessions to Release
Please note that learner users will not have access to this page.
Other release options
In this section, you will find three options:
Release statistics report
By selecting this option, a Statistics Report link will appear in the Reports box for learners. This allows them to view score summaries, including percentages, point values, or both.
When learners click on View Results in My Courses and then select Statistics Report in the Reports box, they will see the following screen.
*All images will be displayed from the Learner's perspective after clicking View Results.
Release evaluation statistics report
Administrative users can also release the Evaluation Statistics Report to participants. This feature allows the administrator to choose whether to display score percentages, point values, or both, with score percentages set as the default. Once released, participants can click the View Results link in their portfolio to find the Evaluation Statistics Report link in the Reports pod.
Once clicked, the Learner will see a version of the Learner Evaluation Score Statistics report, which includes:
- Curriculum items as columns (similar to the admin view for all course and scenario evaluations)
- Question categories as rows
- Curriculum Item Total (specific to the individual user)
- Question Category Total as a final column (applicable only to that learner)
- Total Score
The Administrator view includes all of the above information visible to the Learner, as well as:
- Curriculum Item Mean
- Curriculum Item Standard Deviation (STDDEV)
- Curriculum Item High
- Curriculum Item Low
- Question Category Mean
- Question Category Standard Deviation (Stddev)
- Question Category High
- Question Category Low
- Passing Requirement information
Release passing cutoffs
Selecting this option and/or combining it with other options on the Release Scores page will display the following information to the learner:
Only Release Passing Cutoffs: Nothing will be released or changed.
Overall Score Course evaluation OR Overall Score Scenario + Release Passing Cutoffs
The Overall Score will appear but Passing Cutoffs will not appear. The Learner will see the following:
Course Eval or Scenario Eval Questions + Release Passing Cutoffs
This will release the public title of the Scenario (if applicable), the name of the evaluation with a link to the questions and answers, the completion date, and the passing status of either Passing Score or Not a Passing Score. The Release Scores page will display the following information to the learner:
Course evaluation or Scenario Eval Score + Release Passing Cutoffs
This will release the public title of the Scenario (if applicable), the name of the evaluation, the completion date, and the passing status of either Passing Score or Not a Passing Score.
Scenario Video + Release Passing Cutoff
This will release the Scenario name, a link to the participant session viewer, and the completion date. Passing cutoffs will not be included.
Select scores/sessions to release
Course evaluations
Questions: Releasing this will enable the user to see the evaluation link, click it, and review the questions and answers chosen for the Course Evaluation.
When reviewing the questions and answers, users will see the correct answers highlighted in green and incorrect answers highlighted in yellow or red.
- Green: Full point value
- Yellow: Partially correct answer with less than full point.
- Red: Incorrect answer. No points given.
Note: For multiple-choice questions that allow multiple answers, partial credit answers will be highlighted in green.
Score: Releasing this will show the evaluation title, the completion date, and the score achieved, but there will be no link to the selected questions and answers.
Questions + Score: Releasing this will display the evaluation name, completion date, and score achieved. The evaluation name will be a clickable link, allowing users to navigate to the evaluation with the selected questions and answers.
Scenario
Overall Score: The Total Score Box will display the Total Earned Points of released items divided by the Total Possible Points of released items. Note: You will only see total points for the selected items, not for the entire course.
Questions: This will automatically select all evaluations within the scenario. It will release the Public Title of the scenario, the titles of all evaluations in the scenario, the completion date for each, and a link to the evaluations where participants can view the questions and answers.
Comments: This will automatically select all evaluations within the scenario. It will release the public title of the scenario, the evaluation titles of any evaluations with comments, the completion date, and a link to the evaluation where participants can view the questions marked with comments. Note: Comments can only be released from Scoring Evaluations and Patient Evaluations.
Score: This will automatically select all evaluations within the scenario. It will release the public title of the scenario, all evaluation titles within the scenario, the completion date, and the score. There will be no link to review the evaluation questions.
Videos: This will select all sessions within the scenario. It will release the scenario name and the completion date, along with a link to the scenario name. Clicking the link will direct the user to the session viewer page.
Overall Score + any scenario item: The Total Score Box will display the total for the scenario, even if only some evaluation scores have been released.
Scenario evals
Overall Score: This selection is currently unavailable.
Questions: This will display the Public Title of the scenario, the title of the chosen evaluation, the completion date, and a link to the evaluation where participants can view the questions and answers.
Comments: Releasing comments will enable the user to access the evaluation link, click on it, and review the questions labeled as Comments along with the Answers.
