Laerdal Medical has integrated SimCapture even more closely with the Laerdal Learning Application (LLEAP). The new integration includes more flexibility and functionality to configure your SimCapture sessions directly from LLEAP, as well as a more stable connection.
Things to know before you begin
Version 7.1 or higher of LLEAP is required.
Obtain the LLEAP plugin
To obtain the LLEAP plugin, login to your organization, click the System settings gear and then, under Recording & Sessions, click Applications.
Then, click Download LLEAP Plugin. Instructions will appear on the screen for what to do next.
Registering the LLEAP plugin
1. When starting a debriefing system, select SimCapture.
2. Check the box that says SimCapture Cloud, select your Region, and enter your clientID. Your clientID is your unique client GUID. If you do not know it, please contact a member of SimCapture support.
3. You will receive a token to enter within SimCapture to connect the two applications.
The token should be entered in the Applications section of System Setup within SimCapture and can be accessed by a System Administrator.
4. Once the device is successfully registered, you can click Continue. Your LLEAP PC is now successfully connected to SimCapture.
Running a SimCapture Session Within LLEAP
- Launch LLEAP and under Simulate, click LLEAP - Instructor Application.
2. Once you have configured your session and are ready to start, click Start session. If you want to edit your simulator before you start a session, click Edit before starting.

3. Configure SimCapture by selecting the course, scenario and location. Once a location is selected, SimCapture will locate the associated video feeds and allow you to select which feeds to record for your session. You may select up to 4 feeds to record at one time.
You may select a SimCapture Course (with SimCapture Enterprise) and Scenario for your session, as well as a recording location. The recording location will determine which video feeds are available.
Once your configuration is set, click Start . This will also start the associated LLEAP session. You will know the session has successfully started recording by looking at the status and timer in the SimCapture plugin window.
4. Click the Stop button, represented by a white square in a black circle, to end the recording and then click Debrief. Clicking Debrief sends the recorded information to your instance of SimCapture where it can be viewed as a Session. Once the session is complete, select Go to Debriefing to automatically navigate to the session within SimCapture.
Note: Selecting Start new or Exit will not preserve the recording data in SimCapture and the data will be discarded.
5. To view your newly captured session, login to your SimCapture Cloud instance and click Sessions in the global navigation bar and then click the name of the session you want to view. From that point, you will be able to view the session and see any annotations and simulator data that has been imported from LLEAP.
