March 12 , 2026 - SimCapture Cloud - Version 2.165.x
Feature Enhancements
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Standalone Admin Evaluations): Standardized Patients (SPs) who also have Admin permissions can now open and complete Standalone Admin Evaluations. This update ensures that SPs with administrative roles have the same evaluation capabilities as other admin users, improving workflow flexibility and consistency.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Calendar – Rotational Events): SimCapture now provides clearer guidance when starting rotational events that have rooms with no assigned learners. The “Log in participants and start exam” option has been updated to “Log in configured participants and start exam” and will only activate when applicable. If some rooms have no learners, the system now displays helpful messaging or tooltips explaining which rooms lack participants, ensuring users understand exactly which rooms will be affected. This update prevents confusion, improves workflow clarity, and ensures login actions behave as expected across all rotational configurations.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Reporting): The Course Organization filter in Reports > Participants has been improved for easier use and accuracy. The filter is now searchable and scrollable, making it faster to find and select the correct organization, especially for accounts with many organizations.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Live Devices – Dash board): The Live Devices toggle menu is now disabled when no live devices are available. Previously, the menu could be opened even when no actions were possible, resulting in an empty popup that could be confusing. With this update, the menu is only accessible when live devices are present, making the interface clearer and preventing unnecessary interactions.
Bugs Fixed
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Exam System - Monitor): Fixed an issue where live video monitoring did not consistently display during post-encounter follow-ups, ensuring live video is available across all exam states when nonencounter monitoring is enabled.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Scenario): We fixed an issue where the scenario order displayed in course reports did not match the scenario order configured within the course, ensuring consistent and accurate reporting.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Forgot Password Email): We fixed an issue where Forgot Password emails could be sent to users who were not part of the current client, which could redirect them to an incorrect client’s reset page. Password reset requests are now validated against the active client, preventing misdirected emails and improving security and user experience.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Reports – Learner Statistics): We fixed an issue where the Learner Statistics report export displayed learner names inconsistently. Exported files now show learner names in the standard “Last name, First name” format, matching other areas of the application for clarity and consistency.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions - Debrief): We fixed an issue where an error could occur when seeking along the timeline during Debrief, sometimes causing UI elements (such as annotations) to briefly flash. Timeline navigation during debriefing is now more stable and visually consistent.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Control Interface): The French translation for Reset Room in the Control Interface has been corrected to prevent confusion during room configuration. Previously, the label appeared as “Salle de réinitialisation,” which did not accurately describe the action and could be misinterpreted. The label now correctly displays as “Réinitialiser la salle,” clearly indicating that the action resets the room.
March 2 , 2026 - SimCapture Cloud - Version 2.164.x
Feature Enhancements
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Samaritan AI Transcription): SimCapture now supports single language transcription selection in Samaritan settings, giving System Admins more control over transcript quality and expanding the list of available languages. A new dropdown on the Setup → Samaritan → Transcription page lets admins choose from our list of 100+ supported languages to include the primary transcription language. Previously selected languages are preserved if transcription is toggled off, ensuring configurations aren’t lost.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Samaritan AI Transcription): SimCapture now allows System Admins to enable multi‑language transcription, supporting up to five languages (one primary and 4 additional languages) per site. This update makes it easier for multilingual institutions to generate accurate transcripts without switching system language settings. A new option in Setup → Samaritan → Session Video Transcription lets admins turn on multi‑language detection and select supported languages before saving.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Session Transcript): To make transcript search clearer and easier to follow, SimCapture now includes an improved highlight animation when navigating search results within a session transcript. As you move between matches, the currently selected term will briefly animate to help you visually locate it on the page.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Session Transcript): To provide a more consistent experience across SimCapture, the Status toggle on the Session Transcription settings page now uses “On” and “Off” instead of “Enabled” and “Disabled.” This update aligns the transcription settings with other system toggles and improves overall UI clarity.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Exam Station): To reduce confusion and improve clarity, all references to “Patient” on the Setup → Exam Stations page have been updated to “SP.” This change ensures consistent terminology across both the exam setup and station registration workflows, helping System Admins more easily identify and register stations.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Location Based Recording): SimCapture now ensures that all IP Video Feeds have unique names when LBR is enabled. When editing a feed, the system will display an error if the name matches an existing feed for the same client. Additionally, existing duplicate names are automatically updated with a suffix (e.g., _1, _2) to avoid conflicts. This update improves clarity and prevents issues caused by duplicate feed identifiers.
Bugs Fixed
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Standalone Admin Evaluation): A bug has been fixed where course monitors could be assigned a standalone admin evaluation, but the evaluation did not appear on their dashboard, preventing them from completing it. With this fix, assigned standalone admin evaluations now correctly display for course monitors, and they can open and complete them as expected.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Reports – Cross Course Performance): We’ve fixed an issue where participant tabs in the Cross Course Performance report were not appearing in alphabetical order. Tabs are now correctly sorted by participant name, making it easier to navigate reports and find the data you need. This update ensures a more intuitive and consistent experience across all exported reports.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Courses): We’ve fixed an issue where a Course Monitor remained incorrectly assigned to a Standalone Admin Evaluation (SAE) even after being removed from the course. Now, when a Course Monitor is removed, the SAE assignment page updates as expected, removing the assignment and displaying the Assign option again. This ensures accurate assignment visibility and prevents confusion during evaluation setup.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions): We’ve fixed an issue where editing a session would cause its custom title to revert to the original scenario name. Session titles you update are now correctly saved and retained, even after additional edits. This ensures your custom naming stays intact and reflects exactly what you intended.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions): We’ve fixed an issue where editing a session caused custom titles to revert to the default date/time format. Session titles you create now remain intact when you open the edit view, ensuring your customized naming stays consistent throughout playback and review.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Session Transcript): We’ve fixed an issue where the Session Transcript tab incorrectly appeared while viewing a live SCMC session. This tab is not supported during live recording and should only be visible after the session is completed. The transcript option now behaves as expected and no longer appears during active SCMC recordings.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Evaluations): We’ve fixed an issue where typing in the Evaluation Builder stopped working if the mouse moved outside the question area, even without clicking. Keyboard focus now remains active while you type, ensuring you can continue editing questions uninterrupted—no extra clicks required.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Center Sign-In): We’ve resolved an issue where learners were still prompted to authenticate through SSO when accessing the center sign‑in kiosk—even if administrators had set Require password to sign in = No in Setup → Center Sign‑In.
With this fix, disabling the password requirement now works as intended:
- Learners can access the center sign‑in kiosk without being asked to sign in through SSO.
- All other system and exam logins continue to use standard authentication rules.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Scenarios): We resolved an issue where the scenario order displayed on the Reports dashboard did not match the order defined within the course itself. Scenario lists now appear in a consistent, accurate sequence across both the course page and all related reports, ensuring clearer navigation and more reliable performance review.
LLEAP Patient Monitor - We’ve fixed an issue where running PMC alongside the LLEAP Patient Monitor caused the LLEAP PM screen to refresh or flicker every 15 seconds. This behavior was triggered by a background process in PMC and disappeared once PMC was closed. With this fix, the LLEAP Patient Monitor now runs smoothly without periodic refreshes when PMC is active.
February 12, 2026 - SimCapture Cloud - Version 2.163.x
Feature Enhancements
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Calendar Report): System Admins and Admins can now quickly manage Calendar filters with new Select All / Clear options. Instead of checking each item individually, you can select or deselect all options at once for:
- Locations
- Organizations
- Simulators
When expanded, each filter category now shows a “Select all” link that switches to “Clear” once everything is selected. This reduces clicks and makes it easier to view the calendar for all—or only a few—items.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Session - Transcript): You can now search within a session’s transcript and quickly jump to each matching moment in the video. Enter at least two characters to see results, use arrows to move between them, and click a result to seek the video to that point. Available in the Session Transcription tab for all users.
Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (SimCapture Search feature): We’re actively building a redesigned in‑app help experience to make support easier and more intuitive. While this work is underway, we encourage you to visit https://help.simcapture.com for the most up‑to‑date guides, troubleshooting steps, and product documentation.
This site is continually maintained and offers the fastest way to find the answers you need.
Bugs Fixed
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions): An issue has been resolved where bulk updating a session’s owner would unintentionally delete completed self-record evaluations submitted by the original owner. With this fix, all completed evaluations are preserved when changing session ownership, ensuring accurate records and preventing data loss.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions): An issue has been resolved where bulk updating a session’s owner would unintentionally delete completed Admin evaluation submitted by the original owner.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Calendar - Reservations): An issue that caused reservations starting at 11:00 PM or 11:30 PM to unintentionally become overnight events has been fixed. Same-day reservations starting after 11:00 PM now automatically end at 11:59 PM, unless you enable the multiday toggle to create an intentional overnight booking.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Monitor Interface): An issue that caused the Monitor Interface to log a browser console error (“Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'evaluationId')”) when an exam ended has been fixed. The interface now completes exams cleanly without errors and no longer remains stuck on the final phase timer.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Exam System – CaptureNode): We resolved an issue where force advancing an exam could lock a room if the CaptureNode took too long to stop recording. The system now correctly recovers after recording shutdowns—rooms no longer remain stuck “in use,” and CaptureNodes are ready for the next session without manual intervention.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Calendar – Reservations): We’ve fixed an issue where editing a single day reservation to a past date would incorrectly convert it into a multiday reservation, keeping the original end date. Single day reservations now correctly update both the start and end dates to the selected day, preventing unintended multiday bookings. Reservations now correctly update both the start and end dates to the selected day, preventing unintended multiday bookings.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (LMS/LTI): We’ve fixed an issue where learners launching a course through LMS/LTI were shown a “Page Not Found” error before being redirected to the dashboard. Learners without course access are now sent directly to the dashboard, ensuring a smooth and error free launch experience.
February 10, 2026 - SimCapture Software Paging app v1.3
We’ve made key updates to improve reliability and troubleshooting in the latest version of the SimCapture Software Paging app.
New and Improved Features
- We have added the ability to select which microphone is in use from the available microphones connection to the paging station. This change also includes:
- Showing an animation in the paging bar to indicate when the microphone is receiving audio input.
- Showing an alert to the user if the currently selected microphone is disconnected.
- When adding a room, we now pull information from the Axis paging/listening device to display on the room details page, including Axis Version and Hardware ID.
Bugs Fixed
- Fixed a bug where on fresh installs (only) of the app, the config file was not always being created, causing the app not to start.
January 29, 2026 - SimCapture Cloud - Version 2.162.x
Feature Enhancements
Enterprise with Exam System (Exams – Exam Stations): Enterprise customers with the Exam System can now enable a setting that automatically adds learners to a Course when they log in at an OSCE exam station—no more pre-loading large participant lists.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Calendar – Rotational Scheduling): You can now automatically log students into exam stations when using rotational scheduling for in‑center exams. A new checkbox— “Log in Participants and begin exam session”— lets exam administrators pre‑load both SPs and students into their assigned rooms before the exam begins.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Scenarios): To prevent submission issues in self-record scenarios, we’ve added a safeguard: scenarios created as non-skills (e.g., those including evaluations like reflections) can no longer be edited and converted into self-record scenarios. This prevents hidden content and submission errors caused by incompatible evaluations. Additionally, when hovering over the disabled option, you’ll see the message: “Cannot be changed to self-record due to evaluation conflicts. Please create a new self-record scenario.”
SimCapture Mobile Record (Livekit): To reduce distracting overlapping audio, Livekit sessions and debriefs now only play audio from the first feed in the session. If the first feed has no audio (e.g., Patient Monitor Capture), no sound will be heard, which is expected behavior. This ensures a consistent and focused audio experience without multiple streams playing at once.
Bugs Fixed
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Center Sign-in): If your account uses Single Sign-On (SSO) and you attempt to sign in at a Center Sign-In kiosk with a username and password, you’ll now see this message instead of an error: “Your account uses Single Sign-On (SSO). Please sign in using your organization’s SSO option.”
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Monitor Evaluations): We fixed an issue where the Extra Time modal displayed “evaluations” instead of “evaluation.” The wording now appears correctly.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Sessions): Participant users in Enterprise and Enterprise+ can no longer access the Sessions view by manually updating the URL. Attempting to load /sessions will now display a 403 error, ensuring users only see sessions explicitly released to them.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Courses): When exporting and importing courses, evaluation templates now retain all question formatting (including rich text) as expected. Previously, most formatting was stripped during import, causing inconsistencies. This fix ensures imported evaluations match the original design.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Evaluations): Standalone admin evaluations now include the Samaritan assist option, ensuring consistency with other evaluation types.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Standalone Admin Evaluations): Admins can now open and review their completed standalone admin evaluations directly from the Course Evaluation Assignments view. After submitting an evaluation, a new admin‑only link allows you to view the completed form via a dedicated evaluation path—without affecting learner or SP workflows. This update makes it easier for admins to reference, verify, and audit their completed evaluations in one place.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (SP Table): For users in the Europe region, the Notes column and its option in the columns dropdown have been removed from the SP table to align with regional requirements.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Evaluations): Completed standalone evaluations will no longer appear in the course participant pod for learners. This ensures consistency with admin evaluations, which also do not display in this view.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (LLEAP): Custom camera feed names are now displayed in LLEAP sessions when the Enable Camera Feed Naming feature is active. Previously, feeds showed default names instead of the custom names set in SimCapture.
Enterprise, Enterprise with Exam System and Pro (Permissions and Evaluations – Admin Users): We’ve resolved an issue where admin users added to a course as Learners or Standardized Patients (SPs) were unable to complete assigned scoring evaluations. Previously, these admins encountered a 403 error when attempting to open their evaluation from the My Active Courses dashboard.
With this fix:
- Admins added to a course as learners can now complete scoring evaluations as expected.
- Admins added to a course as SPs can now complete after session scoring evaluations without error.
This update ensures consistent permissions and restores full evaluation functionality for all admin-assigned roles.
January 22, 2026 - SimCapture Patient Monitor Capture app – Version 1.4
Feature Enhancements
New Feature: Camera Mode Selection in PMC App
When using the PMC app for the first time, you must now select a streaming mode:
- Mobile Camera (for SCMC sessions)
- IP Camera (for CaptureNode sessions)
Once selected, this setting will be remembered and determines which streaming method is enabled. The app will only work for sessions of the chosen type. You can switch between modes at any time without editing feed configurations in CaptureNode or SimCapture, but only one mode can stream live at a time.
Key Details:
- Existing users should confirm the correct mode after updating. If no selection is made, PMC feeds will not appear in SimCapture sessions.
- There is no need to update existing feed configurations in CaptureNode or SimCapture system settings.
- In IP Camera mode, the app displays the device’s IP address for CaptureNode configuration and shows improved RTSP stream info when hovering over CN Streaming Status:
- Actual IP address is now shown (preferring Ethernet, then Wi-Fi, then VPN labeled as such).
- Example: rtsp://10.181.130.77:6682/rsc
This update prevents conflicts between different streaming types and gives you control over which is in use.
UI Sidebar Updates – What’s New
- Removed Region section (now included with pairing info).
- SimCapture Cloud section:
- Renamed for clarity.
- Added Region after Location.
- Added Configure and Sync Now buttons (Configure disabled during active sessions).
Stream Status:
- IP Camera Streaming information moved here with statuses: Starting, Enabled, Error.
- Reduced excess spacing for a cleaner look.
Bugs Fixed
Handling Lost Stream Sources
PMC now gracefully handles cases where a selected stream source is removed (e.g., unplugging a monitor):
- If a source disappears, the app shows an alert: “<source name> is no longer available. Select another source.”
- If no source is selected or all sources are removed, the video area displays: “No source selected. Choose a source to capture from the menu.”
- Selecting a new source updates the stream without switching automatically, preventing unintended screensharing.
This fix ensures clear messaging and prevents accidental streaming when sources change.
January 8, 2026 - SimCapture Cloud - Version 2.161.x
Feature Enhancements
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Standalone Admin Evaluations): You can now release Standalone Admin Evaluation scores directly to evaluatees. A new option — “Standalone Admin Evaluation” — has been added under Select Scores/Sessions to Release, allowing you to manage and share these evaluation results just like existing evaluation types.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Transcription): To prevent errors, transcripts cannot be generated while videos are still uploading or processing. On the Transcript tab, you’ll now see the message: “Transcript cannot be generated while videos are being processed".
Bugs Fixed
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Standardized Patients): The Notes field on the User Details page now wraps text automatically, making lengthy sections easier to read without horizontal scrolling.
Enterprise and Enterprise with Exam System (Session Transcript - Manual): We’ve resolved an issue where navigating to the Transcript tab for sessions with a follow-up (recording toggled OFF) caused a component error message: “An unexpected error occurred in this component.” Users can now switch between Encounter and Follow-Up views without errors and see the Generate Transcript button as expected.
