SimCapture Cloud Remote OSCE allows learners to participate in clinical assessments remotely using a secure, browser-based platform. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to successfully complete your Remote OSCE exam.
Accessing Your Exam
- Go to the My Courses section in SimCapture.
- Click the Remote Exam: Learner link to enter the exam environment.
- If you are not assigned to a room, you will see a message:
"No exams available."
Before the Exam Starts
- You'll be prompted to preview and select your camera and microphone settings.
- Once the Proctor places you in a room, a message will appear:
"Please wait. Your remote exam in the room 'RemoteRoom 1' is about to start."
- You can recheck your camera and microphone settings before proceeding.
Starting the Exam
- When the Proctor opens the room, you'll see a Begin Exam button at the top of the page.
- Clicking this button starts the exam flow, which may include:
- Honor Code
- Door Note
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) (if applicable)
During the Exam
Your exam interface will display:
- The virtual room
- Your first and last name
- Time remaining in the encounter
- Video and audio feeds of you and the Standardized Patient (SP)
- The EMR, if applicable
- A Stop Encounter button to end the session
If an EMR is provided, it will be prominently displayed and accessible while viewing the video feeds.
After the Exam
- Once the encounter and any follow-up evaluations or recordings are completed, you'll return to the Remote Encounter Waiting Room.
- Your progress will be saved, and you can safely exit the session.
Tips for a Smooth Experience
- Use Google Chrome-other browsers like Firefox are not supported.
- Ensure your microphone and camera are working before the exam.
- A wired internet connection is recommended for best performance.
- Minimum bandwidth of 1.2 Mbps is required.
