The SimCapture Paging App is a Windows‑based application that enables facilitators and administrators to page into one or more simulation rooms and, with supported hardware, listen to live audio. Designed to replace the legacy Software Paging Station, it offers simplified installation, flexible room and device configuration, room grouping for faster workflows, and import/export options to streamline setup across multiple systems.
Before You Begin
- Download the SimCapture Paging App installer (.msi) for Windows 10 (version 1709 or later) or Windows 11.
- Audio Module Compatibility:
- Axis P8221: App can page directly to this module.
- Axis D3110: Requires an additional IP speaker (recommended: Axis C1410 MK II) for paging.
This app is intended to replace the current Software Paging Station. Contact Support or your Impact Manager if you’d like to transition.
Configuration
Add a Room
- Open the Paging App and go to Settings.
- Select + Add new location.
- Enter a Room Name.
Add a Paging Device

To add a paging device:
- Provide the IP address or hostname, username, and password.
- Select the device type (e.g., Axis P8221 or IP speaker).
- Authentication type is auto-selected based on device type (unless “Other” is chosen).
- Click the Validate option in the Device info box to confirm the device is reachable
- Select Save Changes.
Repeat for additional rooms. The Room List in Settings will show configured devices.
Add a Listening Device

To add a listening device:
- Select the device type:
- Same paging & listening device: The same device will be used for paging and listening, only supported with Axis P8221
- Different paging & listening device: Add a second device for listening into rooms, e.g. a combination of a C1410 IP speakers and a audio module
- No listening device: Paging only, listening into rooms will not be an option
- Provide the IP address or hostname, username, and password.
- Enter device details and select type (authentication is auto-set unless “Other” is selected).
- Select Save Changes.
Edit or Delete a Room
To edit or delete a room, click the name of the location to be taken back to the edit view to make any changes you need.
Group Rooms

Group rooms for quick multi-room paging:
- Go to Settings > Groups > + Create a new group.
- Name the group and select Save.
- While adding/editing rooms, assign them to a group via the dropdown.
- Once saved, Groups appear at the top of the dashboard for easy selection.

Import and Export Settings

Import Settings
- In Settings, select the Import icon as shown in the image above.
- Select a config file from a previous version (this will overwrite current settings).
Export Settings
- In Settings, select the Export icon as shown in the image above.
- Save the config file to share or use in another installation.
Using the app
Paging into rooms

- Select a room tile on the dashboard to select it (highlighted in blue).
- Select again to deselect.
- Hold Push to Talk to broadcast your message.
Listening into a Room
- Select the volume icon on a room’s tile to start listening.
- Select again to stop. Note: You can only listen to one room at a time.
Quick Select Multiple Rooms
- Use Select all, Deselect all, or choose a Group.
- Deselecting a group removes all its rooms from selection, even if they belong to other selected groups.
Using microphones
- Use the microphone dropdown in the top-right corner of the dashboard to select any available audio input connected to your computer.
- During paging, an audio animation appears next to the paging button to show whether your microphone is picking up sound.
Note: We currently do not recommend using Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) microphone sources due to Windows compatibility issues.
Supported Hardware
We don’t recommend using the software paging app on virtual Windows machines (e.g., Hyper‑V), as it may lead to reduced performance and missing features.
| Device | Function |
| Axis P8221 | Paging & Listening |
| Axis D3110 | Listening Only |
| Axis C1410mkII IP speaker | Paging Only |
| Axis C1410 Ip speaker | Paging only |
Using unsupported hardware may cause errors that SimCapture cannot resolve.
