Release version 5.8.6
Laerdal Medical is happy to announce the release of SimCapture version 5.8.6. This new version includes some updates to our password requirement capabilities plus much more.

Password requirements
Summary
Provide clients the ability to invoke password requirements for end-users so our software better aligns with the security requirements set forth by their organizations.
Phase 1 Includes Password requirements including the number of characters, uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
Phase 2 Includes (included in v5.8.7 release): Enabling the system to validate that a user sets a unique password x number of times before reusing a password.
Improvements
- Password requirements include number of characters, uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
- Configure it so passwords automatically expire every X Days.
- Within the upload spreadsheet, any auto-generated passwords must be compliant, but any provided passwords will not be validated on upload.
Details
- Currently, the Password Requirements will not be validated if changing passwords within the Exam System, iPad Debriefer, or Center Sign-In.

New LLEAP versions verified
Tested and validated that these new versions of LLEAP work with our software:

LLEAP Version: 6.3.0.3141
- Resolved some issues where this version would result in various on-screen errors appearing when loading up the Instructor Application
Note: There were instances when installing the new LLEAP versions would delete the SimCapture plugin. If you experience issues after upgrading, please be sure to validate our plugin is still installed properly and if further problems persist, please contact the SimCapture Support Team.
Bug fixes and improvements
- Resolved an issue with editing permissions for custom annotations so that now participants are only allowed to edit/delete Annotations that they themselves have made. Admins are still able to edit/delete all Annotations, regardless of the owner.
- Fixed an issue with our webcam setup where the second webcam feed in a session was not recording any audio.
- Resolved an issue with the framerate of our webcams not staying fixed at 30fps.
- Adjusted reports to properly display Scenario Title instead of Scenario ID on some usage and event reports.
- As a permanent fix to some reporting errors, we had fixed in the past where the numbering of evaluations would get duplicated, we have now calculated via the Djb2Hash method. This should prevent collisions from occurring going forward.
- Resolved an issue with our new Exam System Tray Application would not work properly if the room name contained whitespace characters.
