SimCapture Enterprise Cloud enables you to immediately capture sessions, add session data, and annotate recordings both during and after the session. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to get started.
Things to Know Before You Begin
- Reserved sessions appear on the Home page for easy access.

Room status colorshelp you understand availability:
- Blue: Room is available.
- Red: Room is in session (you may join if permitted).
- Yellow: Room is online but missing inputs (ensure at least one video and one audio source).
- Gray: Room is offline (contact your admin or use the Feedback button if unexpected).
Preparing a Session
Choose a Node/Location From the Home page, select the node or location where you want to record.
Start a New Session Select Start New Session, then select Start Ad-hoc Session.

Select Inputs
- Up to six devices may appear in the lower-left corner.
- Select device names to enable or disable up to four.
- Once ready, Select Start Recording to begin.
Session Settings
You can enter session details before or during the recording to improve reporting and organization:
- Course: Select a course if available.
- Scenario: Choose a pre-configured scenario tied to the course. Scenarios may include data, evaluations, annotations, and attachments.
- Title: Required. Defaults to date/time if left blank.
- Location: Must be pre-configured in the system.
- Participants: Add individuals involved in the session.
- Notes: Optional free-text field for additional context.
Recording and Annotating
- Select Start Recording to begin. The session timer starts, and the menu collapses (Select the arrow on the right to expand it).

Summary
Edit session info during or after the recording.
People
Add participants and contributors (inherited from the course if selected).
Annotate
- Add annotations before, during, or after the session.
- Use pre-defined annotations (if using a scenario) for reportable insights.
- Add ad-hoc annotations for personal notes (not reportable but useful).
Event Log
- View and edit annotations in real time or post-session.
- Select an event to jump to that moment in the recording.
- View simulator events with detail levels from 1 (minimal) to 4 (all annotations).
Evaluations
- Evaluations assigned to the course appear here.
- When finished, Select the Stop icon in the lower-left corner.
After the Session
- All completed evaluations are available in the Session Viewer.
- You can continue to annotate, edit details, and review simulator data.
Searching and Viewing a Completed Session
Once a session is completed, there are several ways to locate and review it:
From the Home Page
- Quick Debrief: View the last session you participated in.
- Last Session: Access the most recent recording from a specific node or location.
- Your Activity: Displays the last four sessions you were involved in.
Using the Sessions Tab
Administrative users can use the Sessions tab to search, view, and debrief sessions using filters such as:
- Course
- Participant
- Organization
- Simulator
- Location
Once you locate the desired session, Select the Session Title to begin playback.
Debriefing a Completed Session
You do not need to be on the local network to debrief or access administrative features. However, you do need to be on the local network to start or join a live session.
Steps to Debrief:

Locate the Session
- Use Quick Debrief if it was your last session.
- Or, go to Sessions in the global navigation and Select the session title.

Playback the Video
- The video will auto-play.
- Use the Pause/Play button to control playback.
- If loading takes longer than 10 seconds, report the issue via the Feedback button.

Return to Session List
- Hover over the red line at the top to reveal the global navigation bar.
- Or, use your browser's Back button.
Session Video Speed and Layout
To customize playback:
- Select the Gear icon in the playback bar.
- Choose:
- Speed: 1x, 1.5x, or 2x
- Layout: Horizontal, Vertical, PiP (Picture-in-Picture), Flow, or Quad
Editing, Annotating, and Trimming a Completed Session
Select the blue arrow on the right side of the screen to access editing options.
Tabs and Features:

Summary
- Edit session details via the hamburger menu.
- Options: Edit, Download Video, Delete.
- View Activity log for session actions (hover for exact timestamps).

People
- Add Contributors, Participants, and Viewers.
- Modify permissions and create external share links.

Annotate
- Add pre-defined annotations (if scenario used).
- Add ad-hoc annotations for personal notes.

Event Log
- View annotations in chronological order.
- Filter and edit annotations (including offset and text).
- Use log entries to jump to specific moments.

Evaluations
- Complete or review evaluations assigned to the session.
Trimming a Session Recording
To trim a video:
- Select the session video.
- Go to the lower-right corner and Select the Trim icon.
- Edit and Select Save.
Note: Trimming replaces the original video. All evaluations will be transferred to the edited version.
Viewing Completed Evaluations
To view evaluations in the Session Viewer:
- Select Sessions in the menu bar and select the session.
- Select the blue Sidebar tab.
- Select the Evaluation icon and choose from the dropdown.
- Select the link under Completedto view:
- Evaluation name
- Evaluator
- Date and time
- Evaluation questions
