SimCapture Enterprise Cloud enables instructors and facilitators to record live simulation sessions, capture video and simulator data, and add annotations in real time.
This guide covers how to prepare, start, and record a live session .
Before You Begin
Session Availability
- Reserved sessions appear on the Home page.
- You must be on the local network to start or join a live session.
Room Status Colors
Room colors indicate session readiness:
| Color | Status | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | Available | Ready to start a session |
| Red | In Session | A session is already running |
| Yellow | Online – Inputs Missing | Enable at least one video and one audio source |
| Gray | Offline | Room is unavailable (contact your administrator) |
Step 1: Select a Node or Location
From the Home page , select the node or location where you want to record.
Step 2: Start a New Session
- Select Start New Session
- Choose Start Ad‑hoc Session
Step 3: Select Inputs
- Up to six devices may appear in the lower‑left corner
- You can enable up to four inputs at a time
- Select device names to enable or disable inputs
When your inputs are ready, select Start Recording .
Configure Session Settings
You can enter or update session details before, during, or after recording.

| Location | Must already exist in system setup |
| Participants | Add people involved in the session |

Start Recording
- Select Start Recording
- The session timer begins
- The session menu collapses (use the arrow on the right to expand)
To end the session, select the Stop icon in the lower‑left corner.
Add Annotations During Recording
While recording, you can:
- Add pre‑defined annotations (from the scenario) for reportable insights
- Add ad‑hoc annotations for personal notes
Annotations appear during playback and learner reflection.
What Happens After Recording
Once the session ends:
- The recording is saved automatically
- Evaluations tied to the course or scenario become available
- The session can be reviewed, annotated further, and debriefed
