SimCapture Pro: How to import session videos
Learn how to quickly and easily import session videos into SimCapture Pro.
This article will show you how to upload a session video that has been recorded using an external device. Once the upload is complete, your uploaded video will behave the same as if the video had been recorded using SimCapture.
Things to know before you begin
We utilize Amazon Transcoding Services, which supports popular web, consumer, and professional media formats. Examples include 3GP, AAC, AVI, FLV, MP4, and MPEG-2. If you've found a format that does not work, please let us know by contacting support.
Upload a session video
After logging into your SimCapture organization, take these steps to upload your session video.
- Click Sessions in the Global navigation bar and then click Import.
- Drag and drop your video file or click Choose File to select video files to upload.
Once you've selected your videos, they'll be uploaded to the transcoding service, so you'll see some progress bars while that takes place. This may take some time, depending on the length of the videos and your internet connection speed.
As your videos are uploading, you can select a Scenario, Title, Organization, Location, and Notes for your session. You can also change the session date and time to match the date and time that your recording was created.
When the videos have finished uploading, you can save the session, which will take you immediately to the session viewer. Depending on the videos' length, the session will take time to transcode and load in the viewer. However, you are free to move about or log out of the system while this process occurs. If the transcoding process takes longer than 15 minutes, an email is sent to the user who uploaded the session, alerting them that it is ready to be viewed.
Note: Save can only be selected when all uploaded videos display a green check mark.
