Uploading a Session Video from an External Device
Learn how to quickly and easily import session videos into SimCapture Pro.

This article will guide you through uploading a session video recorded using an external device. Once uploaded, the video will function just like one recorded directly in SimCapture.
Things to Know Before You Begin
- SimCapture uses Amazon Transcoding Services, which supports a wide range of media formats including:
- 3GP, AAC, AVI, FLV, MP4, MPEG-2
- If your video format isn't supported or fails to upload, please contact SimCapture Support for assistance.
How to Upload a Session Video
- Log in to your SimCapture organization.
- Select Sessions in the global navigation bar.
- Select Import.
- Either:
- Drag and drop your video file, or
- Click Choose File to browse and select your video.
During Upload
- Your video will be uploaded to the transcoding service.
- A progress bar will show the upload status.
- Upload time depends on:
- Video length
- Internet connection speed
While uploading, you can also:
- Select a Scenario
- Enter a Title
- Choose Organization and Location
- Add Notes
- Adjust the Session Date and Time to match when the video was recorded
Finalizing the Upload
- Once all videos show a green check mark, the Save button will become available.
- Click Save to complete the upload and go directly to the Session Viewer.
Note: Transcoding may take some time depending on video length. You can navigate away or log out-SimCapture will send an email notification when the session is ready (if it takes longer than 15 minutes).
